Patching Materials and Expected Service Life
Hairline cracks are cleaned, primed with a bonding agent, and filled with a flexible compound. The compound moves with the slab rather than separating at the repair boundary over time. Cracks wider than three-eighths of an inch with panel movement are evaluated for root cause first. That width often signals a settlement problem that patching alone will not correct. Spalled surfaces are ground to sound concrete and profiled to one-quarter inch depth. Repair material is rated for New Jersey freeze-thaw and deicing salt exposure.
