Can a basement be lowered if the water table is high?

A high water table does not disqualify a basement digout, but it significantly changes the system design. Where groundwater lies within a few feet of the proposed new slab elevation, we install a dual sump system, a full sub-slab drainage mat, and a reinforced vapor barrier before the new slab is poured.

Low-lying New Jersey towns near the Passaic, Raritan, and Hackensack basins frequently require this configuration. A geotechnical soil report is required before the final scope is committed.
