What size trip hazards can concrete grinding fix?

Concrete grinding is effective for trip hazards up to 1.5 inches in height differential between adjacent slab edges. Above 1.5 inches the amount of concrete that must be removed to create a smooth transition becomes structurally significant and is not appropriate for grinding alone. For larger differentials slab lifting is required first to bring the slabs closer to grade before grinding addresses the remaining lip.
