Carbon fiber straps sit nearly flush against the foundation wall at approximately one-eighth of an inch in thickness, which allows them to be fully concealed behind standard two-by-four stud-wall framing, furring strips with rigid foam insulation, or drywall panels without any bump-out in the finished wall plane.

Finish carpenters do not need to work around the straps, and no inspection access panels are required because the reinforcement is passive and does not require periodic service.
