Can I live in my home during basement door installation?

Yes. Basement door installation is an exterior project, and most homeowners remain in their homes throughout the work. The main disruption is noise from concrete cutting if a new opening is being created, and temporary access to the foundation wall area being worked on.

For a replacement project, the existing opening is secured and functional the same day in most cases. For a new installation, the opening is temporarily covered and secured each evening so the home is not left with an unsecured gap overnight.

Interior work is limited to the basement staircase access area if steps are being modified. The rest of the home is unaffected throughout the project.
