Joint Separation Between Concrete Slabs

Expansion joints between adjacent concrete slabs are designed to accommodate minor movement, but when one slab settles significantly lower than its neighbor the joint opens into a visible gap and a raised edge. Debris, water, and ice fill these gaps and push slabs further apart, while the raised edge becomes a tripping hazard along every linear foot of the joint. Concrete leveling raises the sunken slab back to match the adjacent panel, closing the joint differential and removing the hazardous edge without disturbing the higher slab.
